The EP, titled Buffalo Boyfriend – In Colour features four songs from the duo’s extensive original repertoire and is the result of three years of writing and playing music between Rachel Beinke and Alana Jagt.
The girls both started life in rural South Australia, from Whyalla and Cowell to Napperby and Crystal Brook; they eventually got together in Adelaide to form the duo and began to write their own material. Their music is a blend of folk and pop with a hint of ‘Americana’ sounding country. Featuring truthful lyrics complimented by haunting vocal melody and harmony lines, their voices blend together as well as blue and yellow on a painter’s palette.

about
Lady Blue is a track written by Rachel Beinke, it features a constant progression and melody line, written about a boy singing to a ghost or dream, his lady blue.
lyrics
There was a boy who liked to sing the blues,
but he sang them so slightly, out of tune.
Sang it loud and he sang it true,
all for you, his lady blue.
Blue, blue, his lady blue.
Hope you'd hear it and trust him so,
time could stand still, just words could heal his soul.
Sang it loud and he sang it so true, all for you, his lady blue.
Blue, Blue, his lady blue.
Blue, blue, his lady blue.
For that calling his audience heard,
those lines fell short of your ears drop into the dirt,
still sang loud and he sang so true, for you, his lady blue.
Blue, Blue, his lady blue.
Blue, blue, his lady blue.
There was a boy who liked to sing the blues,
but he sang them so slightly, out of tune.
Sang it loud and he sang it true,
all for you, his lady blue.
